Music Globe is an interactive 3D visualization project designed to map the history of music across time and space. Our goal is to create a living "atlas" of musical heritage, connecting artists to their geographic roots and visualizing the spread of genres.
This platform utilizes CesiumJS for geospatial rendering and sources data from open knowledge bases like MusicBrainz and Wikidata. It is currently in a Production Beta state.
We strive for accuracy, but data can be messy. If you spot an error (e.g., an artist mapped to the wrong city), please use the "Report Issue" link found on every artist's popup card.
For general inquiries, please email: [email protected]
Music Globe is a passion project maintained by one developer. It is free to use and ad-supported to cover basic server and domain costs.
If you enjoy exploring the map and want to buy me a coffee to keep the servers running (and help the project potentially stray from dependency on ads all together), it is greatly appreciated!
